Next under the microscope for our meet the team series of posts is Misty Michael, who only recently joined stickee as a Product Owner, find out more about her here…
stickee: How did you end up working for stickee? Tell us how you got here (can you tell us a bit about your background, your last job, perhaps your degree)?
MM: I have a degree in English Literature, but after accepting a job with a web company, I ended up working in E-commerce. At my last job, I co-ordinated the building of a few websites that sold women’s accessories, as well as looking after their digital marketing, which I really enjoyed. I decided it was time for a new challenge, and luckily this turned out to be just what I was looking for.
stickee: Can we get you a tea or coffee? How many sugars?
MM: Neither! I gave up caffeine a year ago on a whim, so just water or the occasional juice now. I was primarily a coffee drinker before though – white with 1 sugar. And one must always add the milk first!
stickee: What were your first impressions of stickee?
MM: Everyone is amazing here! It’s an incredibly positive environment, everyone is really friendly and welcoming. I honestly couldn’t say a bad thing about anyone or anything I’ve experienced so far.
stickee: Who would play you in a movie of your life?
MM: Probably Melissa McCarthy if she could pull off the accent.
stickee: If you have a life outside of stickee, what do you get up to?
MM: My hobby is having hobbies. I’m a knitter, sewer, photography nut, nail art fanatic and all around general crafter. Most of the time outside of work I’m either making something, or planning my next project. I’m currently working on a cardigan that’s knit entirely in sock weight yarn which is very thin and will probably take approximately 1000 years to finish.
stickee: It’s lunchtime, someone offers to get you whatever takeaway you desire, what do you go for?
MM: Sushi with extra wasabi! Alternatively, if they’re willing to go a long way for it, Taco Bell.
stickee: What’s your favourite book, film and album?
MM: I can never pick favourites, they’re always changing. It’s much easier for me to pick genres. For reading, I prefer post-apocolyptic dystopia. I’m an absolute horror film buff, I could watch only scary movies and be happy. My music tastes are much more eclectic. I like classical, hip-hop, rock and folk music from the 60s and 70s.
stickee: What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
MM: So far it’s probably Lanzarote. I spent a very blissful two weeks swimming every day in the ocean, doing some sight-seeing, and eating chicken cooked over the top of a volcano. My favourite part though was when I tried chocolate tequila for the first time. IT. WAS. AMAZING.
Thanks Misty – we’ll let you get back to your work!
